Google unveils five new sustainability initiatives in India
Google is expanding its Solar API to cover more than 300 million rooftops in India, enabling faster and more accurate rooftop solar assessments. Installers can now evaluate a home’s solar potential without an on‑site visit, reducing time and cost. Platforms like Solar Ladder and OpenSolar have already integrated Solar API insights to streamline proposal creation and automate manual roof surveys.
Google has signed a long‑term agreement with ReNew Power for a 150‑megawatt solar project in Rajasthan. The company will receive environmental attributes from the clean electricity generated, helping address electricity‑related emissions across its value chain.
