Oracle to spend $700 million more on restructuring costs as it ramps up AI spending

Oracle said restructuring costs, part of a plan that includes job cuts, will rise about $700 ​million as the cloud company seeks to ​rein in costs while spending billions to capitalize on booming demand for artificial intelligence ​services.

In a regulatory filing on Friday, Oracle said the increase, disclosed after the end of its August quarter, raises the expected cost of its fiscal 2026 restructuring plan to roughly $2.8 billion. The plan, which the company says includes severance, contract terminations and other exit expenses, ‌is partly tied ⁠to the ⁠adoption of AI across some functions.
