DTH, cable companies seek tech-neutral rules under new telecom regime

Mumbai: India’s television distribution industry is urging the Centre to adopt technology-neutral regulations under which the same rules apply regardless of whether television is delivered through satellite, cable or the internet.

The request comes even as the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) finalises the authorisation regime under the Telecommunications Act.
