No evidence of cartelisation : CCI closes complaint against Reliance Jio, over 4,500 other companies

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has dismissed a complaint alleging anti-competitive practices by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd and more than 4,500 companies across multiple sectors, ruling that the allegations were speculative, generic and unsupported by evidence.

In an order passed on Thursday, the fair trade regulator said the complaint failed to establish a prima facie case under Sections 3 and 4 of the Competition Act, which deal with anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominant position, respectively.
