PM Modi inaugurates CG Semi chip plant in Sanand, Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated CG Semi’s Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, marking the commissioning of India’s third semiconductor manufacturing plant and a key milestone in the country’s efforts to build a domestic chip ecosystem.

The facility is expected to boost India’s semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, strengthen the electronics supply chain and reduce dependence on imported chips as the government pushes to position the country as a global semiconductor hub.
