India’s electronics output hits ₹13 lakh crore; Vaishnaw eyes No. 2 export spot
Pune: Electronics production in India has reached around ₹ 13 lakh crore and there should be an aim to make it the second largest export category from the country, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday.
During the inaugural event of a new plant of electronics manufacturing service company Jabil, Vaishnaw announced that two more chip plants will start their commercial production in full swing this year.
“Today, we have an electronics manufacturing industry worth ₹ 13 lakh crore in our country. A few years ago, someone had even thought of exporting electronics from India,” the minister said.
