IndiaAI Mission releases indigenous foundation models EKA-1, Dhīr 2B, Dhīr 5B

NEW DELHI: The IndiaAI Mission, under the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), on Tuesday released indigenous foundation models EKA-1, Dhīr 2B, and Dhīr 5B.

Soket Labs Technology and Research developed EKA-1, while ZenteiQ AiTech Innovations developed Dhīr 2B and Dhīr 5B. This marks a step in India’s push to build homegrown AI capabilities.

These models were unveiled at an event attended by IT Secretary S Krishnan, senior ministry officials, and leadership from both companies.
