US President Donald Trump extends $1,00,000 H-1B visa fee for another year, orders tighter visa scrutiny
US President Donald Trump has extended by another year the USD 100,000 fee imposed on employers seeking to bring foreign workers to the United States under the H-1B visa programme, while ordering tighter scrutiny of applications and a review of sponsoring employers.
In a presidential proclamation issued on Friday, Trump said the 2025 fee had resulted in a 92 per cent decline in H-1B registrations by large IT outsourcing firms.
