Madhya Pradesh petrol pumps vow not to accept UPI above Rs 2,000, trade body flags concern
Fuel pump dealers in Madhya Pradesh have decided to stop accepting UPI payments above Rs 2,000 from October 16 unless the proposed merchant discount rate is withdrawn, their association said on Friday.
The Confederation of All India Traders described the decision as a “serious concern” for digital transactions. Its Bhopal district president and Madhya Pradesh media in-charge, Dharmendra Sharma, said around 4,700 petrol pumps in the state could be affected.
