‘Message has gone home’: Centre tells Meta to follow Indian laws in talks on child sexual abuse material

The Centre’s firm message to Meta on child sexual abuse material (CSAM) has led to action and greater sensitivity from the social media platform, IT Ministry sources said on Tuesday, stressing that there is no safe harbour when the law is violated.

The government has made it clear that CSAM is a serious violation and platforms must comply with Indian laws and norms, the sources said.
