Lam Research to invest $3 bn over five years to expand global R&D lab network

NEW DELHI: Semiconductor equipment supplier Lam Research said on Thursday that it would invest more than $3 billion over the next five years to expand its global research and development (R&D) lab network, as it seeks to increase experiment capacity and speed up product development in response to growing demand for AI.

The planned multi-site expansion is expected to add infrastructure and capabilities to increase experiment capacity by more than 50%, according to a statement.
