Meta sorry for PM post ‘error’, India questions platform accountability and algorithms
Meta on Wednesday apologised for the temporary removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Facebook post, while acknowledging failures involving child sexual abuse content and deepfakes.
According to a Meta statement, its chief global affairs officer, Joel Kaplan, apologised on behalf of the company for the error restricting Modi’s post addressing Gen Z. “I apologised to the minister on behalf of Meta for the error restricting PM Modi’s post,” Kaplan said in a meeting with the information technology ministry.
