Mark Zuckerberg apologises for child sexual abuse material, deepfake content after Meta officials meet IT minister

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has apologised for the temporary removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Facebook post, while the company’s global leadership admitted to lapses in content moderation, including the promotion of illegal content through paid boosting, government sources said on Wednesday after high-level meetings with the Centre.

The apology came during meetings between Meta’s global team, led by Global Affairs head Joel Kaplan, and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, as well as IT Secretary S Krishnan.
