US senator introduces bill to pause new H-1B visas for 3 years, reinstate $100,000 fee
US Senator Tim Sheehy has introduced the End H-1B Abuse Act, a bill that proposes a three-year pause on issuing new H-1B visas, tighter restrictions on the programme, and the codification of the Trump administration’s $100,000 fee for every H-1B petition.
The legislation comes days after a federal appeals court declined to stay a lower court order that invalidated the $100,000 H-1B fee imposed by the Trump administration.
