Govt notifies Draft Rules

The government has released a draft set of rules that seeks to recast the regulatory framework for television, radio and associated services under the Telecommunications Act, 2023. The proposed Telecommunications (Television, Radio and Associated Services) Rules, 2026 have been framed to consolidate a number of older guideline-based regimes that had continued under the Telegraph Act, 1885 and bring them into a single legal structure administered by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
