Apple to spend over $30 billion on Broadcom chips to boost US sourcing
NEW DELHI: Apple on Wednesday said it plans to spend over $30 billion in a multi-year chip deal with Broadcom, under which the US-based semiconductor maker will also expand its manufacturing capacity.
This comes as the Donald Trump-led administration pushes to expand domestic chip manufacturing capacities.
The deal between Apple and Broadcom, reached earlier this week and running through 2031, covers advanced radio-frequency components, including FBAR (film bulk acoustic resonator) filters, and advanced wireless connectivity technologies.
