Data centre operator AirTrunk to invest $30 bn in India

Mumbai: Australian data centre operator AirTrunk will invest around US$30 billion in India by 2030, the company said on Friday, the latest promised major tech investment into the country.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the company planned to develop five gigawatts of data centre capacity and will “strengthen India’s position as a global hub for cloud computing and AI, while generating employment opportunities”.

AirTrunk said its investment will “support digital infrastructure capacity” in “multiple” sites countrywide.
