RIL’s digital services employee count decreases 21% in FY26

Reliance Industries’ digital services workforce declined by 19,701 employees, or 20.8%, in FY26 compared with FY25, according to disclosures in the conglomerate’s latest annual report. The digital business housed under Jio Platforms—which also includes the telecom arm Reliance Jio—reported a total headcount of 74,822 at the end of FY26, down from 94,523 at the end of FY25.

Company executives said the reduction in headcount was largely linked to a new initiative in Reliance Jio’s homes business, where employees in smaller markets were offered the opportunity to transition into micro entrepreneurs.
