Google starts building $15 billion AI data centre hub in Vizag

A $15 billion Google artificial intelligence (AI) data centre hub in Visakhapatnam broke ground on Tuesday, marking one of the largest foreign direct investments in India’s digital infrastructure space and positioning Andhra Pradesh as a key node in the global AI ecosystem.

The project, anchored by Google Cloud in partnership with the Adani Group and Bharti Airtel, will bring together 1 gigawatt of data centre capacity, subsea cable connectivity, fibre networks and clean energy infrastructure in a single integrated hub.
