Sunil Mittal to retire as chair of Airtel Africa in July

New Delhi: Sunil Bharti Mittal will be retiring as chair of Airtel Africa Board in July and Gopal Vittal will be appointed as non-executive chair.

As per a statement by Airtel Africa, Mittal, who has served as Chair since the company’s listing in 2019, has informed the Board of his intention to retire at the conclusion of this year’s AGM in July 2026. The Board has also announced that Vittal will be appointed Non‑Executive Chair of the Board with effect from the same date.
