Google is finally building a Gemini app for Mac, and it’s already in people’s hands. Bloomberg reports that the company has begun privately sharing an early build with select users outside Google—the first real proof that a dedicated desktop app exists and is far enough along to test in the wild.
The test version is limited by design. Google told participants it would include “only critical features from the other clients but not all,” which implies a more complete build is being held back.
