Amazon follows Microsoft and Google, launches Europe-based cloud service

Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing arm of Amazon, has announced a new cloud infrastructure located entirely in Europe. With this, the company has officially entered the race for European digital sovereignty as it aims to address concerns among the region’s governments and businesses regarding data security.

Amazon is now the third major US provider – following Microsoft and Google – to build a cloud computing giant to operate independently of American legal and physical infrastructure.
