Samsung forecasts record Q4 profit as AI-driven chip demand lifts prices
Samsung Electronics has projected a sharp rise in its fourth-quarter operating profit, driven by higher memory chip prices and strong demand linked to artificial intelligence. According to a Reuters report, the company said operating profit for the October–December period is expected to nearly triple from a year earlier, reaching a record level. The forecast highlights how tight supply and rising demand for memory chips used in data centres, personal computers and smartphones have pushed prices higher. Samsung’s results come as global chipmakers race to expand capacity to meet growing AI-related needs, even as concerns remain about rising costs for device makers and data centre operators.
