BSNL rolls out in-house ‘Sanchar Mitra’ app nationwide after KYC disruption

BENGALURU: Telecom major BSNL on Friday announced the nationwide rollout of its in-house developed customer registration mobile application, ‘Sanchar Mitra’, marking a key step in restoring and streamlining new customer onboarding services.

Developed by BSNL engineers from across the country, the new application replaces the previous Sanchar Aadhaar app, which was earlier used for Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification to add customers to the BSNL network. The earlier app had been developed by a private firm and was used by BSNL retailers and franchisees to digitally verify customer identity.
