NEW DELHI: India’s telecom sector saw significant regulatory interventions this year, as the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) sought to rein in spam communication, streamline satellite spectrum policy, and prepare a future-ready spectrum roadmap for next-generation technologies, such as 6G.
The sector regulator tightened enforcement under amended commercial communication rules, shortening action timelines for unregistered spammers, extending complaint windows and mandating clearer caller identification.
