ICC, JioStar clarify on media rights deal after reports of exit ahead of T20 World Cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and JioStar on Friday said their India media-rights agreement remains valid, countering reports that the broadcaster plans to step away from the contract ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Both organisations said the agreement “remains fully in force” and rejected suggestions of any withdrawal.

The joint statement comes at a time when reports surfaced that JioStar had informed the ICC it cannot service the remaining two years of its four-year deal due to deep financial losses.
