JioHotsar to invest Rs 4,000 crore to acquire, produce content in South Indian languages

Reliance-Disney’s streaming service JioHotstar will make a massive investment of Rs 4,000 crore over the next five years, for acquiring and producing in several South Indian regional languages. The investment is framed as a broader collaboration with the Tamil Nadu government. Sushant Sreeram, Head – SVOD Business & Chief Marketing Officer at JioStar, confirmed that the platform formalised a Letter of Intent with the Government of Tamil Nadu.
