‘Jio adds more active subs than Airtel for eighth straight month in Oct; Vodafone Idea slips’
NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio added more active users than Bharti Airtel for the eighth consecutive month in October, driven bymarket share gains across all circles, and it bodes well for the broader tariff outlook, according to brokerages.
Jio added 3.9 million active subscribers, taking this tally to 476 million in October, while Airtel’s additions accelerated by 2.7 million – the highest in nine months – to 392 million. Vi and BSNL, by contrast, lost 0.4 million and 0.6 million active subscribers, respectively.
