Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on why he just does not like when people ask: What the Next 10 years will look like

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has long avoided the popular question of what the next 10 years will look like. After more than a decade, Bezos still continues to argue that the more meaningful and important question is not able to predicting the future but about identifying what will never change. Speaking at the Amazon Web Services’ first re:Invent conference in 2012, Bezos told CTO Werner Vogels that while most people ask him about the next 10 years, he prefers to focus on constants. “What’s not going to change in the next 10 years?” he asked, explaining that Amazon’s retail business is built on three enduring truths: low prices, fast delivery, and broad selection.

“It’s impossible to imagine a future 10 years from now where a customer comes up to me and says, ‘Jeff, I love Amazon. I just wish the prices were a little higher,’ or ‘I love Amazon, I just wish you delivered a little more slowly,’” Bezos said.
