Aadhaar is quietly entering a new phase. From being seen largely as a digital ID used for eKYC and welfare delivery, it is now evolving into a consent-driven, privacy-aware identity layer that can be invoked securely across hospitals, hotels, fintech platforms and a range of digital and physical services.
At the heart of this transition is the new Aadhaar App and UIDAI’s push for offline verification — a model where the resident, not the backend system, becomes the primary conduit of identity sharing.
