South Korea’s SK Hynix is in preliminary talks to find an Indian partner to establish a memory chip assembly and testing unit in India, said people aware of the development. This will mark the second entry into India by a major chip manufacturer after US-based Micron.
SK Hynix has been traditionally considered the ‘little brother’ to Samsung Electronics. But the Icheon, Korea-based firm has been more than competitive in the AI era, largely by betting on high bandwidth memory, sending its market cap to a high of $290 billion in November.
