Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is turning to an executive who faced employee complaints of “throwing bombshells into their organisation” 15 years ago

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has tapped longtime strategist Rolf Harms to help the tech giant rethink its business model for the era of artificial intelligence, taking lessons from Microsoft’s cloud transformation 15 years ago. As reported by Business Insider, in a memo to top executives issued earlier this month, Nadella said that Microsoft must ‘rapidly rethink the new economics of AI across the company — just as we once did with the cloud.’

Harms who co-authored the influential 2010 white paper Economics of the Cloud, which forced a cultural reckoning inside Microsoft and helped justify massive investments in cloud infrastructure.
