State rules delay broadband, 5G expansion plans: Industry

Mumbai: Inconsistent state-level policies, approvals and tariff classifications are causing delays and cost overruns disrupting fibre and small cell deployments, slowing India’s broadband and 5G expansion goals, experts and telecom infrastructure companies said.

These issues are creating obstacles despite the central government’s efforts to support the process, including notification of the Right of Way (RoW) Rules.
