With a new Rs 7,172-crore move, India intensifies push into high-value electronics manufacturing

India has doubled down on high-value electronics manufacturing, approving 17 new projects worth Rs 7,172 crore under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) , news agencies reported on November 17. The government expects these projects to generate cumulative production of ₹65,111 crore, marking a significant step in its plan to build a resilient supply chain and strengthen domestic capabilities.
