Rs 65,111 cr electronics boom: ECMS tranche 2 unlocks 11,808 jobs; Rs 7,172 cr investments & ARKA-GKT1 chip

India’s ambition to become a global electronics manufacturing powerhouse has moved another step forward. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on Monday approved the second tranche of proposals under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), opening doors to deeper value-chain development at the component and sub-assembly level.

With 17 new approvals, this tranche brings in Rs 7,172 crore in fresh investment, an expected Rs 65,111 crore in cumulative production, and 11,808 direct employment opportunities across high-skill manufacturing segments.
