Google relaunches Cameyo to let Windows apps run easily on ChromeOS

Google has relaunched Cameyo, a software virtualization service it bought last year, under a new name — “Cameyo by Google.” The new version helps Windows-based organizations easily move to ChromeOS without losing access to their old Windows apps.

Cameyo by Google works through a system called Virtual App Delivery (VAD) — it lets users run Windows apps directly in the Chrome browser or as web apps, without needing the full Windows system, as per the report by The Verge. This means you can now use Windows apps like Excel or AutoCAD right beside Chrome and other web apps on a Chromebook — no need to keep switching systems.
