Electronics industry urges Centre to persist with supportive policy as US-China ties ease

New Delhi: India’s electronics industry has urged the government to persist with supportive policy measures, concerned that normalisation of US-China trade relations would hurt the sector’s hard-earned export competitiveness.

The industry, also the biggest Make in India success story, reached out to the government after the US halved fentanyl tariffs on Beijing to 10%, from the original 20%, following a multi-hour dialogue between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on October 30.
