Samsung Electronics names new head of its key decision-making body

Samsung Electronics said on Friday it had named HK Park as the new head of its business support office, a key decision-making body of the technology giant that serves chairman Jay Y. Lee.

The body, which has been upgraded from a “task force,” is a key strategy unit that acts as a mini-control tower inside Samsung Group, South Korea’s top conglomerate whose businesses range from chips to smartphones, ships and pharmaceuticals, coordinating across business units and affiliates, analysts said.
