Telegram CEO Pavel Durov: Happy to buy and donate Louvre Museum’s stolen jewelry; conditions apply

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has offered to buy the jewels stolen from the Louvre Museum last week. In a post on microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Durov said that he is “happy to buy the stolen jewelry and donate it back to the Louvre”, but not the Louvre Museum in Paris but Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi. Last week, four thieves stole jewels from the Louvre Museum in Paris in broad daylight.

According to reports, the gang reportedly arrived at 09:30 local time, shortly after the museum opened to visitors. Four of them arrived with a vehicle-mounted mechanical lift to gain access to the Galerie d’Apollon (Gallery of Apollo) via a balcony close to the River Seine, while the other two got inside by cutting through the window.
