US senators pose nine questions to TCS on hiring practices in America, H-1B approach

US senators have asked IT companies Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Cognizant Technology Solutions, among ten global technology firms, to furnish details about their hiring practices in the US, any replacement of American talent with H1-B workers, and wage parity between H-1B hires and local US employees.

Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley and ranking member Dick Durbin are scrutinising major corporations for filing thousands of H-1B skilled labour visa petitions after conducting mass layoffs of American employees. Grassley and Durbin are longtime partners on H-1B visa reform and the lead authors of the H-1B and L-1 Visa Reform Act.
