Apple hardware head John Ternus top pick to succeed Tim Cook as CEO

John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering, is the top contender to succeed Tim Cook as chief executive of the company, according to a Bloomberg report. The tech major may also go in for a major overhaul of its upper echelons, the report added.

Cook is turning 65 next month. Chief operating officer John Williams — once heir apparent — has handed over the reins of day-to-day operations to Sabih Khan and is on his way out.
