OpenAI posts $4.3 billion in first-half revenue amid AI boom

ChatGPT creator OpenAI has reportedly recorded a jump of 16% in revenue in the first half of 2025. According to a report by The Information, OpenAI’s revenue reached about $4.3 billion. As per the report, the growth in the revenue of OpenAI can be attributed to the increasing demand for generative AI tools across industries. OpneAI’s flagship products including ChatGPT Enterprise and its API services have also been instrumental in this growth.

The report further reveals that despite 16% jump in the revenue, OpenAI is still burning large amount of cash in its operations. According to the report by The Information, the company has burned around $2.5 billion in cash in the first half.
