Accenture to add 12,000 jobs with new Andhra Pradesh campus amid H-1B visa fee hike
Accenture has proposed to set up a new campus in Andhra Pradesh, reports news agency Reuters. According to the report, the tech consultancy firm aims to add about 12,000 jobs to its workforce with the new campus. The development comes days after the US announced a $100,000 annual fee on H-1B visas starting September 21, 2025. The move, according to experts, is expected to hurt the IT sector which is the largest beneficiary of the H-1B visa programme.
Citing three sources familiar with the matter, Reuters report says that Accenture has requested the Andhra Pradesh government land of about 10 acres in the port city of Visakhapatnam on similar terms. The report quotes a government official who said he Andhra Pradesh government is eager to bring in Accenture, adding while approvals may take time, the proposal is expected to be cleared.
