Ciena to buy Nubis Communications for $270 mn to boost data center portfolio
NEW DELHI: US optical gear maker Ciena has agreed to acquire artificial intelligence (AI) workload equipment specialist Nubis Communications in an all-cash deal valued at $270 million.
New Jersey-based, privately-held Nubis specialises in high-performance, ultra-compact, low-power optical and electrical interconnects tailored to support AI workloads, with Ciena stating on Monday that the acquisition will expand its high-speed interconnects portfolio, particularly needed in data centers, and add crucial talent.
