Uncertainty hits IT, hiring demand falls 10% in August

Hiring at India’s IT services companies has slowed since the start of the second quarter and the trend is likely to continue, according to staffing firms. They attribute the slowdown to global economic uncertainties, increase in US tariffs and a decline in revenue from discretionary spending.

Data from Teamlease showed there was a 10% dip in overall hiring by India’s $283-billion outsourcing sector between July and August this year.
