Telangana introduces AI-powered facial recognition system for student attendance in Telangana govt junior colleges

Hyderabad: Gone are the days of playing truant for students of govt-run junior colleges in the state. The govt is rolling out an AI-powered facial recognition system to track student attendance.

As of Saturday, 63,587 students out of 164,621 were registered on the platform, and the remaining are expected to be onboarded by Monday. The system went live today across 430 govt junior colleges, marking a major digital push in education governance.
