DoT asks M2M service providers, IoT device makers to deploy oneM2M standard-based solutions

NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on Friday asked machine-to-machine (M2M) services providers, government ministries and departments, as well as Internet of Things (IoT) device makers, to adopt oneM2M and deploy solutions based on the standard to ensure interoperability and security.

The oneM2M, as a global standard for the IoT, has significant potential to enhance both user experience and user safety. It reduces the problem of vendor lock-in of devices being faced by customers or end-users in their daily applications through interoperability.
