Google has announced a deal to purchase 200 megawatts (MW) of power from a fusion energy project in Virginia, a hub for energy-intensive data centers. The agreement is with Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS), an MIT spin-off. The power from CFS’s ARC project is enough to power a small city. The financial specifics of the deal weren’t disclosed.
