After 5 years with Netflix, studio behind Ford v Ferrari and Planet of the Apes moves to Apple
Apple has secured a deal with Peter Chernin’s North Road studio for new movies, a report claims. This move marks a significant change for the Cupertino-based tech giant in Hollywood and ends North Road’s five-year alignment with Netflix. The agreement reportedly grants Apple first-look rights to upcoming projects from North Road. While new developments will prioritise Apple, Chernin Entertainment will continue to produce films already in progress for other studios. Notably, two of their films, Apex (starring Charlize Theron) and 11817 (with Wagner Moura and Greta Lee), are still slated for release on Netflix.
