Telecom Technology Development Fund

The government’s initiatives under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF), designed to support Indian start-ups, academia and R&D institutions has started taking shape.

One of the significant projects under the TTDF involves the collaboration between the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, in association with IIT Jammu. They are working together to develop a ‘Wideband Spectrum-Sensor ASIC-Chip for Enhancing Spectrum Utilization’. This initiative aims to create a reliable wideband spectrum sensing (WSS) algorithm to improve spectrum efficiency by leveraging spectrum holes, which in turn will deliver broadband services to rural India. The project’s focus is on designing communication algorithms and hardware architectures capable of sensing wideband spectrum (over 2 GHz), enhancing the spectrum
